Hi all, I'm a college student here in California studying for my bachelors in Criminal Justice. Today during my criminal justice class, this classmate that I do not know stands up walks out of class, and I noticed a Glock looking gun sticking out of his waist area that was in a owb holster. I for sure 100% I.D that it was a gun, when he walked back to his seat I saw it again, the muzzle was at least easily protruding about 1" out of his small jacket. I was not alarmed or scared heck this is a criminal justice class and this off- duty cop probably just got off work. No big deal to me, but he probably does not know that some students like I have a good eye in spotting his muzzle of his gun sticking out of his waist side, I could tell not others caught his attention at all. Tell me what you all think, remember this was inside on a California State University classroom, given not a gun friendly state. I also saw him in the restroom but thought it would be weird to start a conversation, this is my first time spotting someone with a concealed gun, well not concealed enough.

It couldn't have been a real gun, if it had been a real gun he'd had gone on a shooting rampage or something.

    (according to the anti's logic).

I would tell him that his pistol is showing in case its his intention to keep it concealed.

I mean i really doubt if any other students spotted his muzzle, it seemed like he didn't really care or noticed but come on wear a bigger jacket to hide the muzzle at least. On the other hand him caring or not, it should be concealed. When I'm around off- duty officers I have never spotted their firearms.

Are guns not allowed on your campus? If so then narc his ***, can you carry your guns to school? Seriously, just talk to him about it and give him the heads up that his gun is showing.

Probably an off duty officer. If not the guy is nuts. He will be facing major charges if caught.:wow:

    Three options:

    1. Panic and call the cops, like too many people do.
    2. Ignore it, or quietly point out to him that his slip is showing.

    or

    3. Call down the wrath of Lolth upon him. :tongueout:

In the old days - when you were reasonably assured you weren't talking to a potential criminal - you might mention that "your pager is showing". The other guy knew exactly what you meant without disturbing the sheeple.

Not sure what terminology would work today but it would be nice to have a common reference again.

Or just go about life and quit making a big deal out of it.

Apply a sleeper hold and disarm him.

Then let the girls in class show you how much they appreciate you saving their lives. :whistling:

Why even tell him? Seriously. If he's like many of us who cc (legally) every day, chances are he could give a flying hoot what you saw.

-Run around in a circle screaming and flailing your arms.
-Get very emotional over the whole experience and post about it on G.T.
-Ignore it and move on with life.
-Walk up to this person and ask what department they work at. If they answer "none", bust them out.

The tone of your post makes you seem like someone afraid of people AND guns.

    True.

Chances are, if the muzzle was hanging out by an inch or more, you weren't the only one that saw it; as far as I can tell, though, you're the only one that posted on GT about it.

I don't know what that CWP laws are in CA. I probably would have just said, "Hey, if you're trying to hide that, you're not doing a very good job."

"Don't tase me bro!!" (I thought it'd been long enough since the last time I heard it...)

Uhm, if I'm attempting (and failing) to conceal my gun, I'd certainly appreciate it if one of you fine people would let me know.

Just because something is the norm doesn't mean it's acceptable....

    Which I'm sure you understand.

Hmmm. Someone needs to remedy that with a sister thread.
