Ok this could go in General Non-Glocking but figure folks here would be a better group to ask/confirm my feelings. (or set me strait)
I have a family member who is (retiring) from Air Force RESEARVE. She was active duty during Desert Storm and researve since then (never deployed outside of CONUS)
Well she wants me to drive some 4hrs each way for retirement (mainly I feel) to sponser some relatives to get them on base. Thing is I take sponsering someone seriously. I feel I am VOUCHING for their behavior and am responsible for them while on base. The one person is a psycho. She does NOT know how to drive near speed limit/refuses to wear safety belt (talked a Dr into writing perscription so she does not have to wear one) (course she never wore one before she injured her back just now has excuse) She carries a loaded firearm (without permit) everywhere in past/etc/etc/etc.
So I am not going because I am too busy (ok really because I refuse to help her get on base KNOWING what I know.
Am I out of line? Is (assisting) someone's access to a base not a big deal? If I was going/helped could it come back and bite me?
Finally what do you figure are odds that a civilian (relatives brother) can get on base with no title for his car? He insists he will NOT bring his title. "what if I loose it" He has current proof of insurance/DL/and he said he would make a photocopy of title. I was always told bring the TITLE. (worst thing is he does not know how to make it easier for security to consider bending rules slightly) He gets demanding too quicly so I told him to plan to park off base and have to get someone to come pick him up.
