Has anyone had any experience with Speer Lawman 9mm 124g FMJ ammo. I've found some at "Ammunition To Go". 1000 rds. for $226.95.
This will be used for target practice and IDPA matches. In the past I've used Georgia Arms canned heat but this is cheaper.

I have shot a lot of it. Speer Lawman is one of the better quality range ammo. Bill

At least two cases of it has gone through my Uzi without a malfunction.

Lawman is good ammo. That is not a bad price, but lately under $200 shipped is my goal to be considered a deal.

I like Lawman because it reflects the Speer Gold Dot load of the same desgination. Your standard pressure 124g FMJ should shoot nearly identical to the same Gold Dot load.

It's great stuff. I bought 500 for like $10.95 a box (+ shipping) a few months ago from sgammo. I think that's a good price for top of the line ammo like that. That's only 2 bucks and change a box more than Russian 115gr crap that is not reloadable.

The 115gr is $9.99 at sgammo.

The Speer Lawman 124-grain FMJ range ammo is the best I've ever shot, by quite a margin.

Its good stuff for IPSC and range practice. Its not bulls-eye accurate, i find like one to two shots out of ten will have a slight variation in accuracy. Its very clean burning ammo compared to GA arms. I have shot thousands of it and never had a problem. Like I said, if you are looking for bulls-eye shooting then its not the correct ammo to train with.

I like using GD 147 and so I like to shoot Lawman 147. Boxes of 50 for around 12 bucks can be had on the 'net. GREAT range ammo

Speer Lawman is good ammo, and one of the few "practice" ammo that is designed to match their premium defense ammo in terms of recoil and power. That being said, it's a little too hot for the true gamer to use in IDPA /IPSC. Federal American Eagle is typically lighter / softer shooting. This is in my very limited experience as I shoot mostly reloads. :embarassed:
