You learn which places are safe and which aren't. Chik-fil-a's are safe, as are places where you can see the food being made. Spent most of my career in plainclothes, so it was less of an issue. When I worked uniformed gigs, I'd throw a jacket on before hitting the drive through in my undercover Camry.
There were very few places I would eat at where I could not see the food being made and they were very cop.friendly. So glad I don't have to worry about it now. I can only imagine how many cop.haters work in fast food or restaurants Sent from my Pixel 3a XL using Tapatalk
I'm all for due process, but wouldn't have a problem with an officer giving a serious wood shampoo to someone who contaminated their food.
Happened here a few years ago at a Burger Thing. They used a caustic cleaner and it burned the troopers throat. The guy did do time.
Hopefully, this is a felony and she actually gets a felony conviction. Props to the McDonald's owner for coming forward with the video.
I had a case in court once where I had arrested a perp for possession with intent to deliver, (heroin and cocaine, both). The judge asked the perp where he worked. The perp answered that he was a sous chef at a classy restaurant. It's not just McDonalds that I fear. And It isn't necessary to be an LEO to be at risk for food tampering. Anyone with white skin, especially white males are at risk in most areas..
I hate to think what I may have eaten over my career. We filed on a Sonic employee for tampering. Officer noticed the entire crew with faces stuck to the window after he got his order. Checked his burger, saw nothing. Opened the top on his drink and a big loogie was floating on top.
I pack lunch every single day. very seldomly, on night shift, I will swing thru chik fil a when on nights and I'm getting off in the morning. they are polite, prompt and professional, on top of giving us a half off discount. generally I do not like to go anywhere in uniform, even on my way home. 9/10 times I'd rather go home and starve then go to Publix after a shift and deal w/ people's stupid comments. I've had people ask if they could play with my taser @ the check out line before....
