I found this one not long ago. I honestly don't believe it had been fired, there was still cosmoline oozing out of ever pore and crevice. I was just disapointed they didn't have the box and papers.
It's a Charter Arms Undercover, with a 3" barrel (I have no idea at all how common these are, I just know I've never seen one.). It was made in Bridgeport, Conn, which was the original factory, probably about 1966 according to the five digit S/N. Although the pictures don't show it well, and I didn't know it until someone told me, the early guns had a "Charter Oak" in the grip medallion, the later ones had a "Charter scroll." This one has the oak.
All that means nothing. There isn't and probably never will be a collectors market for Charter Arms revolvers. Still, I thought it was a neat little gun, and I got it for a good price. I already took it to the range and shot it a few times. Shoots about like my other C/A revolver.
I hadn't even wiped the cosmoline off when I took the pictures. The gun looks much better now that I have cleaned it.
