I spent many years growing up and riding in the car with my mom listening to her favorite music.

Some songs were in her time like Skynard, uncle Teddy, journey, reo, Ect. None of those ever bothered me! One of the songs she loved was in the link below, one of her favorites might I add.

I hate to admit it but it's been stuck in my head for years and I kinda like the song for some reason.

What's the song you hate to admit you like?

The link didn't work for anything specific.

But the music I won't admit to loving is also the music of my Mom. Tom Jones, Elvis, and Motown. The current music that I'll never admit to liking is Pink and Katy Perry. I'll roll the windows up and sing along at the top of my lungs. And I'm a 6' former Marine.

Being a huge fan of late '60s and early '70s hard rock, Hendrix, Cream, Mountain, Purple, James Gang, Steppenwolf, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc...

I won't admit to liking it, but I won't turn them off unless company is around.

I like the piano, the melody, the vocal performance, and I can relate to the regret.

    Oh, no you don't! :eyebrow:

It went something like this, when my ex blurted out in mixed company, "Well, you like _____! :embarassed:

    Friends...

I never heard the end of it... People bought me gifts...

Oh, no... Uh, uh... Not again... :shakehead:

P.S. Some things need to remain unsaid. :miff:

As a speed metal lover, it's very hard to admit that I actually like jewel!

As I've grown older I find my taste in music has become much more broad. As a hard rock fan, you never would have caught me dead listening to something like this back in the day, but now I don't really give a damn about what other people think about my taste in music.

There are great & terrible songs to be found amongst any musical genre. I went through a nu-metal phase in high school and some of those songs have many memories associated with them. 9 years later & thanks to the internet, I've pretty much given up on FM radio and listen to something I've never heard before nearly everyday. I've even learned to appreciate & truly enjoy dissonance and most things avant-garde.

Honestly I really couldn't care less who knows what music I like. I am me and if you don't like it deal, not to mention to base your assumptions on someone based on what music they listen to is ignorant, and I really don't need those kinds of people in my life.
*disclaimer: previous rant not directed at anyone in particular, just stating how I feel about the subject.

That said for the purposes of this conversation,
Katy Perry(had tickets to see her in concert, pretty good show.)
    Lady Gaga
and Madonna(the superbowl and 60 minutes have cost me somewhere between 1 and 3 hundred dollars worth of music)

    Taylor Swift
