Some skateboard tape on my 26.

I like the Talon grip alot, but I got it for my 26 a little while ago and I felt it didn't cover enough, so I went to the local skate shop and asked for some grip tape. The kind gentleman behind the counter cut off a generous chunk from a roll and gave it to me for free! So I went home and used a paper grocery bag to make templates, and added some tape here and there until I was satisfied that all contact points were covered. It really feels good and is incredibly secure. What do you think?

Why would you want tape under the trigger guard and the underside of the beavertail?

BTW, Talon recommends the ends of the finger groove strips be tucked under the panel on the left side instead of on top.

On the underside of the trigger guard, that's where the middle finger of my right hand and index finger of my left hand make the most contact. Underneath the beavertail is where the web of my right hand makes a lot of contact. I feel it improves consistency and gives a little better friction. Plus it just feels good.
hey man, if you like it thats all that counts
It sure looks like it will enhance the grip!
Great looking install, I can never get the stuff on straight.
Looks good, you can tell you just didn't half-ass it.

I'm curious, how do you carry (IWB/OWB), what holster and what position. I've always been worried as a person that carry's AIWB at 12:30-1 that my shirt would get stuck on it. The holster I use is a aholsters.com IWB holster that does have a sweat shield so it wouldn't touch my bare skin, however the opposite side of the slide would contact my shirt.

Well, TBH, I haven't been able to carry yet. Iowa's "shall issue" doesn't go into effect until Jan. 1st. I have thought about the issue with how grabby the tape is. I got a crossbreed supertuck deluxe holster (IWB) that will keep the tape off my skin so I don't get chafed, and I pretty much always wear long shirts, untucked, so I'm hoping that won't be a problem either. I plan on carrying on my right flank.
Here's my 26. Gotta love Talon Grips.

I have found that instead of the tape holding the shirts up or getting snagged really depends on the material of the shirt. Most of the time if it is a cotton shirt it actually holds the shirt down from riding up, say if you get out of a vehicle. If it is a mesh type like a jersey or something similar; it does snag.
looks good KahrMan....
Good deal!!! I used Talon grips for over a year and then got into stippling. Now I much prefer stippling to the tape, but it is definitely not permanent
Good job.
Nice!
The ends of the finger tabs go underneath the side panel, not on top of it.

Yeah I've heard that a couple times in this thread now. I used to cut them flush with the side panel. Then I saw a buddy of mine do it this way. He never had any problem with them coming off, and frankly, it's just easier to do. Works fine for me.
Looks great! I've been meaning to hit a skate shop to pick up some tape. I just hope I can make it as nice and clean looking as you did.
If you specify when you order, he'll usually ship you some talon grip scraps for free. He sent me one that the backstrap was poorly cut on, and I cut it up and used it for the extra portions. His adhesive is really good.
