Wow, guys, those are some huge cats......awesome.

When I was a youngster, ( some 40 yrs ago ) on American Sportsman TV show, they had some dudes fishing for Mississippi cats , using whole chickens as bait, impaled on giant hooks, and pullin` them in with chains attached to winches...lol...never forgot that show. I thought, I`m never swimming in the Mississippi.

Youse guys ever hear of " noodling"? Southern thing, I think, and they catch these big cats by hand, first letting the cat bite their hands that they stick into the cats` " hole ", as in the hole where they spend their time, then haul `em out by hand and toss them into a boat.....un real.

Are the big ones not good to eat?

Not the yellow bellied ones. Those pests are nasty. I throw 'em up on shore if I find 'em.
