I wondering if there are any loads known for their inherent accuracy using Solo1000 in the 9mm and 45acp.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

I have had very good results with Solo100 in 9mm for 147 LFP and 124 FMJ bullets. Accurate as long as you don't try to powder puff it too much. All my loads are over 130 PF but with 147g LFP especially I had to bump it up to get the accuracy.

    147g LFP 3.7g at 1.135 OAL
    124g FMJ 4.1g at 1.130 OAL

Have never tried it with .45 ACP only a little with .40 S&W so cannot comment there.

Thats my exact load. Loaded to the same PF even.

:whistling: Well I did ask you about it.
Though, I did test rounds at 3.8 through 4.3... the 4.1 was right on the money for velocity/PF and all I needed.
I loaded about 400 rounds just to use up what Solo1000 I had left. Going back to TG for a while, still have over 3 pounds of that for 9mm FMJ.

I also shoot Solo-1000 with 147gr Montana Golds. I was originally shooting *maybe* 125PF, if that. My groups looked like shotgun bursts. I'm now loading to pretty much this same recipe (130+PF), and accuracy has GREATLY improved. And the thing is, it is STILL super soft shooting. Love me some Solo-1000.

Boxer, Is that out of your G34 or G17? I got a new barrel for my G34 so I need to test that load with my KKM barrel just for kicks.

You mention TG. Which powder are you going to use in the future?

My 147gr load is very similar to Boxer's except I use Black Bullets International 147gr bullets (nearly identical profile to Missouri LFN) and 3.5gr Solo 1000 at 1.130 or a tad shorter for 130PF. Excellent accuracy with factory barrel Glock 34.

130gr BBI with 3.7gr Solo 1000 at 1.130 is about 130PF and is also very accurate with factory barreled Glock 34. (I tried 4.0gr Solo with 130BBI and the primers seemed to start to show a bit of flattening and the group opened up a bit)

For jacketed or plated I usually use Titegroup.

124gr. is 3.8gr TG. About 4.0gr of Solo should be about the same.

147gr. is 3.3gr. TG. About 3.5 or a bit more should be about the same.

Just be aware, Solo has been made by several different companies and it varies a bit from jug to jug. Just start on the lower end and work up each time with a new jug. A chrono is a must.

My G34 with stock barrel and in my G17 also with stock barrel it runs just a tad slower at about 128-129 PF. I never tried it with the LWD in the G34 just my EMP9 cycles reliably but no chrono data for it yet.

Yeah, I'm going to use up all the Titegroup I have before possibly moving onto something else for 9mm. I like the price of lead but found that I hate the extra dirtiness of loading it and especially the extra smoke regardess of the powder.
I'm on the verge of consolidating all to 9mm, though I love the .40 in my G23.
I'm waiting for a G19 RTF2 to come my way :wow:
If I go all 9mm thinking I will stick with just 124g FMJ either PD's or MG's... If I come across really good deals on lead I'll bite and use them for plinking but I think that will be the extent of it for me.
Things may change, I deliberate this crap all the time :dunno:

What did your 124g FMJ TG load chrono to? It must be on the verge of being above minimum 125 PF I imagine. At WA State IDPA Championship last year. my 4.0 TG loads with 124 FMJ's chronoed exactly at 1050 with a sd of 6, right at 130 PF out of my G34 with stock barrel.

I didn't like the Solo100 with 147 LFP at 3.5g soft but the accuracy sucked beyond 15-20 yards and it smoked like a train... bumping it up help alot for that bullet accuracy wise and tamed the smoke down noticably.

I just pulled out my notes. It was 124gr Berrys, 3.8gr Titegroup, 1.130 oal, with Wolf SPP...PF129

Wolf primers are a bit hotter than most, and the Berrys would run a tad faster than your FMJ. Probably where the difference is.
