What is everyone's preference on soft sided AR cases? I have seen some use tennis racket cases to be more private about what is inside but haven't seen one in hand to see if it provides any padding? What specifically have you all found to be the best for the dollar?

I have this case, ordered from Amazon, for $20. It is padded, and has the 5 magazine/etc. storage compartments on the side, as well as lockable d-ring, velcro wrap handles, adjustable shoulder strap, etc. The only thing it doesn't have is the straps inside to secure the rifle from moving within the case. I bought a case that just fits, so movement inside the case isn't an issue for me. Great bargain for $20.

Don't know why I need to be private about what is inside a gun case, all my neighbors know I have guns so I don't care if they see me loading it in my car.

When I get to the range or hunting grounds I take it out of the car everyone expects me to be carrying a gun.

Cheaper Than Dirt had some Wolf assault rifle cases for $10 a year or 2 ago. I bought several of them.

I got one of the molle cases from Cheaper-Than-Dirt

Guitar cases work well, some rather cheap "gig bags"

I bought a cammo compound bow case, and then cut out a profile from 2" closed cell foam slab from a local foam and fabric store. I could throw it off a truck it is so well padded. All the EOtech and a magazine fit in it, along with a sling. Good to go.

Walmart sells giant black duffle bags for under $15. Very discreet:cool:

I actually put my AR in a case like those shown above, and that fits in a duffle bag...as does everything else including mags and ammo.

    Sure gets heavy though:whistling:

Oh and being that these are walmart bags, don't expect them to last in a warzone. They seem relatively tough, and one of them has "tough" in the name, but I haven't tested this.

My DD M4 came with a good plastic case, but I've got an Uncle Mikes it will fit in with the stock collapsed. It also has 3 pouches for mags. It was very reasonably priced on Ebay.

Mine is the medium size. It's $25.99 at Optics Planet but I think my Ebay price was about $17.

I do have one covert case available if I don't want anyone to know I'm carrying a gun to the range.

I like the square discreet type cases. The angled front on the typical cases give it away too fast and also doesn't work with the proliferation of vertical foregrips.

    hopefully, on your ignore list

Good point. Whenever you take a rifle to the range, the last thing you want is everyone there knowing you have a rifle.
