That's what I said to my snobbish sister when she visited me this Saturday before Easter.
Let me put things into perspective, she is by no means rich, but she turns up her nose at many common things like shopping at the Dollar General, Food Depot, and Aldi's.
My sister also thinks I'm "hood" for eating fried whiting on a regular basis.

Of course, I have to play nice with her since our parents still haven't finished their will yet, but that doesn't mean I have to put up with elitism.

So do you have a sibling like this? Or are you the "snob" in your family?

Nope.. I don't buy food or clothes at Dollar General/Family Dollar (Aldi's doesn't bother me, but we don't shop there because there isn't one very close).. but we hit DG once or twice a month as it's a steal on cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc. If it was a long drive, we probably wouldn't bother, but there's one not to far away.

That's not snobbish. Sounds like she's normal and you're "hood."

Dollar General is on a major expansion run in our area. Every little town has one now.

They are building nice, new stores here and they seem to be very busy.

Hey, if I can save a buck here or there I don't care what others think. Dang skippy we hit DG. No need to spend twice the amount on same items at another store.

I like the local dollar store for cleaning supplies, painting trays and supplies, office supplies like paper clips and rubber bands. I do not know how they do it.

I like Aldi’s too. A German owned company they sell German coffee, German chocolate at a low price. It tastes good to me. Sometimes the fruit could be a little better but it is a good store with good prices.

Funny, Aldi’s is owned by the same company that owns Trader Joe’s. Trader Joe’s has a totally different clientele than Aldi’s.

I would think Family Dollar would be pretty popular in most areas of Kentucky, I know it is in most areas of Georgia and Alabama.

She owns one house which she paid cash for, same as me. No,she doesn't own a massage therapy center. Of course, it's nice to see small people like you red with hatred for your fellow man.

Around here, if you want to experience an armed robbery, hang out at Dollar General for a few minutes.

I am shopping at Aldi's at least once a week. I rarely go to our "Super" Dollar General for food or other items. They don't have much that I am looking to buy. It is sad to observe some of the people there. I hate the color of the green bags they use. I don't enjoy the experience. My wife shops at dollar stores, but I could be a snob. I have caught, cleaned, and fried whiting.

There are two Dollar General stores near me. One of them looks like a bomb hit it most of the time. I mean stock is scattered from hell to breakfast. Especially on Monday morning. The staff looks like they've "fought the battle of Jericho" as my mother used to say.

The other one is neat, clean, and orderly. That's the one I go to.

I try to avoid places of known trouble in the same way I won't vacation in Somalia.
