Chief Beck carries a stainless steel smith in a swivel holster, cant get much saltier then that, although Chief gates carried his roscoe in a flap over holster till he retired...
I carry a swivel holster too... always have. I don't recall Chief Gates wearing a flap holster, and I worked for him.Chief Beck carries a stainless steel smith in a swivel holster, cant get much saltier then that, although Chief gates carried his roscoe in a flap over holster till he retired...
The more things change the more things stay the same... My first gun I ever carried was a Series 70 Colt back in 1979. Carried the 645 for a few years (carried it as a pilot for S&W before wide-scale release). Eventually wound up with a Glock, but now back to my 645, and next year, we transition back to the 1911 platform. I came in with a 1911, and will probably go out with a 1911. Four decades in between.Wow...I wish I still had my 645. Bought one back in my Don Johnson days because I couldn't afford a Bren 10. Packed it in a 070 Safariland on duty and a Jackass shoulder rig off duty. Sadly, its what I traded for my first Glock back in the late 80s. Had the same Pachmeyer grips....thanks for bringing back some good memories.
Yeah, I went up to the armory yesterday and asked them to do just that. The gunsmith on duty was new and didn't have much experience with the old school guns. I am going to go back up there when one of the older gunsmiths is working and ask him to do it.May I suggest replacing the ugly phillips screw assembly with a third gen safety assembly? You won't have to worry about the screw backing out, and it will be about three times cooler looking.
Not a thing wrong with a good revolver. I might bring mine back out after awhile.Even tho retired, now, i sometimes carry a newly acquired Dan Wesson revo in .357. Keep in in my truck, at my right hand.
When Glocks first came out and there were some rumblings about trying them out, I swore I would quit the job before they made me carry a plastic gun with a toy gun trigger. Guess I was wrong.... But then again, I just put my Glock in the drawer and went back to my old gun so maybe not.My G21 was made in 1993 and purchased new for duty use by a Sgt (now retired) in a neighboring dept. It's been a cop gun it's whole life and has 17 years on the job. I've got 4...
Not sure if that counts as salty but I think it's pretty neat. Trust my life to it every night.
Ohhhh.....yeah. That's the stuff! Nothing like a little 'ole 12 gauge street sweeper get-right. I never was one for the Testarossa though. I thought the Daytona was a bit classier.
