I would have done the same if given the same circumstances. I don’t judge. In fact I think I have done the same thing in an emergency. Hit that defrosted steak on High heat like a blast furnace and it can turn out pretty okay!

If that should come up again, let me suggest you thaw the steak in a ziplock bag with the air pushed out, in a bath of room temp water held under by an inverted dinner plate. Turn every five minutes.
I don't know how I did it but I just turned a 45 minute lawn trimming job into three hours of mowing so I'm think Chinese buffet tonight.

Cut 8 potatoes up in medium cubes and cut up a sweet onion and pack of Hillshire farms smoked sausage. Season with salt pepper and olive oil. Cover at 400 degrees for 45mins and uncover it on broil till the potatoes start to brown..
Corn on the cob as a side .
Sweet tea with lemon .

I WAS gonna braise a piece of brisket, baked potatoes, and blackberry turnovers (home-grown berries). Wife just e-mailed and she's signing her best friend at 6 PM (Wife's an escrow officer). Karen's husband is a lodge Brother. So, now the four of us are going out for pizza.
Tomorrow, making a chicken pot pie for Friday & Sat. Finish the brisket for tomorrow dinner.
