Was wondering what 1911 purchases where going to be made this year to celebrate 100 years of the 1911.

I bought mine at the end of December and picked it up on the 2nd. I waited for parts to come in to change out the plastic MSH to a Nighthawk Custom w/magwell, 80 series deletion plate and Nighthawk GI style guide rod and plug which came in today and some blue grip screws I had on hand. I was going to change the grips so it didn't look like every other Combat Elite out there but I like them way to much.

I know its early but I couldn't wait until March.

On top of this purchse I plan to shoot my 1911s a whole lot more. Even though I carry Glocks now mostly, I do carry my RIA compact from time to time. The 1911 will always be my favorite platform.

I got mine a couple months ago. It's a CA approved Dan Wesson PM7. It's a 2010 version with forged frame. No MIM what-so-ever. I really like it alot. It's just about everything I wanted in a 1911. Lotsa Ed Brown parts, etc.

It's very accurate with its match barrel and Bomar-esque adjustable sights. First mag I ran through it:

I'm putting some grey/black VZ Operators on it as soon as they arrive via USPS. :) The factory DW-marked Checkmate mags kind of suck, but I'm running it mostly with Wilson Combat Elites.

    Happy 100 year B-Day!
