Sous vide filet, sunset, and whatever personal fireworks we can see within about a 6 mile radius of my balcony out to the south and west.

That is just plain wrong. There is no good reason to close beaches.
I kind of get it in this instance. That particular stretch of beach on a holiday weekend can get COMPLETELY overrun with the plumpest rednecks you have ever seen being heathens. Any other day it's like you have the whole peninsula to yourself. Which is what makes it so endearing to me. Now that I think about it, I am glad we are not going on this particular weekend.

cooking some chili/hot dogs on the grill, eating some watermelon, drinking a few beers while floating in the pool.....then drive down to baseball field to watch city fireworks.......and flying ol glory in our front yard

I am a traditional west Texas 'merican as you can see

If I find the time maybe even mounting my new Vortex Diamondback scope on my new Ruger American 7mm-08 that I just bought......even though it will be 104 and way too hot for some range time!

I have Friday through Sunday off. I plan to exercise my God-given second amendment rights, have lunch with some friends and finish a pair of cocobolo pistol grips for a friend.

My wife and I are heading over to our friends house for a BBQ. Good conservative, pro 2a, people - it will be a good time, best part, I think that most of the people invited will be carrying....:flag:

We will head back before any fireworks start though, to be with our 10 month old Boston Terrier puppy "Bullitt". He hasn't been bothered by thunder and lightning but this will be his first 4th of July.

It's good to have choices, bro. I'm going to fly my drone with a buddy in the morning, then just hang at the house and listen to fireworks and gunfire in the hood.
Reminds me of the good ole days in So. Sacramento.....:2gun::2gun:

What am I going to be doing over the holiday weekend?

-Flying the flag tomorrow and Saturday, then watching over the house tomorrow night and Saturday night for anything funny.

-Not grilling anything.

-Waiting for my sister to leave.

-Not catching the Coof even though I don't wear a mask.

-Posting too much here.

:D

Me being nosy again it's what I do.

Mommy and Daddy are here. And Luisa and Paloma. And my two fave surfers will drop by, one of them with his GF (I hope). And the neighbors will probably come over too. And who knows who else.

And I have to figure out how to feed all these people.
Wife and build are staying at home. Nice dinner and watch war movies on TV. going to be to HOT to do anything outside.

Friends of mine live in an umincorporated area outside of the city near an Indian casino and a prison and fireworks are legal and really good fireworks are available on two different Indian Reservations nearby.

They live in a housing development that's about ten years old and it's mostly young couples from the nearby Air Force Base. Every year the people in the neighborhood compete with each other to see who can put on the best show from their front lawn. It's as good as any commercial show in a city park.

And it's totally safe especially this year where it's rained a lot and they're out on the prairie and there aren't very many trees.

BBQ starts at 7:30- 8 and it doen't start to get dark until 9 this far north. the show goes on until about 11. This year I chipped in 100 bucks. My friends haven't done this for a couple of years and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm bringing a bottle of J Lohr Cabernet 2017 to the party for my friends even though I don't drink anymore.

I guess not a God Darned thing. No city fireworks this year in any near by city. Personal fireworks are banned almost everywhere now. Everyone is still quarantining around here. Probably judt throw a pork shoulder on the smoker and have pulled pork sammiches. Probably beer too, but that is no different than any other weekend. Maybe kill some Mfers on Xbox that night.
