So, if you were going to do a build.......

....would these be good receivers to start with? Or....who knows of some other places to purchase a milled receiver?

Thanks!

They look ok and are milled so should be OK. Most people I know buy their AK and do the building after by adding stuff. Sounds like an interesting project.

Thanks for responding. My idea was to get a receiver like the one I linked to and possibly get a kit like this one. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=263181441

Of course I'd have to make sure the right amount of parts are US, but it looks like it would be a fun project.

There is a Romy G kit for sell at http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_123/934634_WTS_Romy_G_kit_REDUCED.html. The kit comes with the original chrome lined barrel.

The GunBroker kit does not come with a barrel so that's going to be an extra cost. Look at the one for sale at https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/1481 and note the additional work needed to make the barrel functional.

Also, compare the quality of the two stock sets.

BTW. I don't know the seller of the Romy G kit. The kit is just a better deal, IMHO, than the GunBroker kit.
