So I love the Gen 2 Glock 17 and had extra parts laying around

I know or at least believe to be accurate from reading elsewhere that the Gen 3 and model 34 both were introduced in 1998. I cannot find any details as to discontinuation of Gen 2 production and I also can't find any examples of a Gen 2 34 either. Does anyone who knows better than me know if they exist?

I ask because I have a Gen 2 17 and all the leftover parts from my Gen 3 G34 Zev build, and got the itch yesterday to Frankenstein a Glock out of my Gen 2 17 frame and all the internals, slide, and barrel from my G34 sans slide stop lever which is Gen 2 specific. Everything worked perfect over the 50 fired rounds and all safety and function checks passed with flying colors. This is the best of both worlds for me as far as a competition Glock goes.

From GSSF rules, I believe this pistol would qualify as "stock" as all parts are OEM except for the allowed sights and nothing really adds an artificial competitive advantage. Can anyone who knows better than me confirm this?

All I know is it looks cool. A range report would be nice, too.

I really wish they'd go back to the groove-less Gen 2 grips….with the new Gen 4 thickness.
