I am traveling the country from June 23-July 9

I will post a pic of my route and dates. It is pretty intensive and I will be stopping for dinner and rest with other GT'ers. Some of you might remember me posting about this in late Oct early Nov.

You should ask a moderator to make this thread a stickie. I might go to Flagstaff and ride with you out west as far as I can depending on which route you take to Vegas. All depending on my work schedule, of course.

Based on Tigger's knowledge of the area, I am probably going to be pushing it for get there NOW vs scenery...

That's not a tour...it's a race! Each stop deserves one full day of sightseeing! HH

Well I am but a mere civil servent, and the days the citizens bestow upon me as my own are limited. Therefore I am taking this opportunity to put some miles on the bike, eat and visit with some friends, and take notes for the next long one!

Which will be in a looooooooong time!!!!! I need to make SGT pay or something!

You cant be that close to the "Dragon!" and not ride it. 318 curves in 11 miles. If there is ANY WAY to do it you MUST. Its close to Knoxville TN and Gatlinburg. Robinsville NC to be even closer. You will NOT regret it. Also check out the "Iron Butt Assoc" web site and see if you would qualify for a bun burner or something. What do you ride?

The first leg (Denver to Fargo) is 980 miles, so with a GPS or an extra quick trip to exceed 1K I will qualify for the Saddle Sore 1000. But though ambitious over all, 7000 miles in 16 days, not so much by their standards! They have the 10 in 10 which is 10,000 miles in 10 days.

As far as the "Dragon" probably not this trip. Sorry. Two weeks vacation and a week of trade days got me enough time to "cram" this trip. I am visiting OAF'ers/GT'ers at each stop! So Ride, Ride, Ride!!!!

If you're in Flagstaff then you gotta stop by SideArmour and say hi to Patricia.

Let's keep this thread updated with your schedule and I'll see if mine meets yours and I'll go meet up with you somewhere and give you an escort out west.

Actually I already know she won't be in Flag that weekend. I have been in touch with her. I will probably see her in March. Gonna stop and get a tour of the shop.

Then off to Phoenix for the Taser Ride www.takingtheride.com

I am not that much of an expert. I do visit Flag three or four times a year. I am trying to get some local ideas from my Dad. So far is Bellmont Harley to Kingman Harley to Vegas. It is an all slab trip. No time for sight seeing.

Codivecop, you really ought to consider taking in the Blue Ridge Parkway and maybe even doing the Dragon's Tail while in the Carolina area. Every biker ought to ride those once in his lifetime. The BRP is one of the most beautiful rides imaginable. The Dragon's Tail is the Holy Grail of motorcycle roads. It would be a shame to be so close and pass these rides by.

Well I can't argue. But I have made plans that I intend on keeping. The only thing I plan on changing this trip will for safety reason (fatigue, etc.).

Once I get through this, I am going to plan the next big one. I would like to ride to DC for the LEO Memorial in May 2008. Good chance I can ride the Carolina's then:thumbsup:

I'll definitely keep an eye out for my work schedule and see if I could meet up with you in Flagstaff and ride with you all the way until you cut up to Vegas from the far west side of Arizona.
