I was out reading meters and noted that one of the meters failed to respond to the radio command to dump data... when I investigated this is what I found:

Seems Mr. Rat really likes Sensus MXU's! I called the rep I deal with and asked if he had ever seen or heard of anything like this before... apparently we are the first one he has heard of for this type of equipment damage.

Let me guess, bio engineered plastics from plans materials.

Rats love it when they wouldn't eat petrochemical plastics.

All I know is I don't think I want to meet this rat without my 12GA handy! I looked for a carcass and didn't find one. He even chewed on a pretty large capacitor! :wow:

I was wondering what in the world would make rats want to eat plastic till I read Bates post. That's got to be it. Now they're going to have to replace thousands of edible housings with new ones with some kind of ick molded into it that makes critters not want to gnaw on it.

I was thinking maybe something got spilled on it that made it taste good. But that idea is probably better.

    Great day:wavey:
Dug up a city main, trenched across the road, didn't plow through any other utilities and waited for city to tap main and hook up meter setter.
    Backfilled,compacted cleaned up-easy day.
I love taps and new utilities installs.

And I was thinking it related to the Solar Storm when you said it failed to respond to radio command.

got up at 4 am, went to a job where I heard a story from a young man about how he was recently a marine in afganistan and got selected in basic training as a scout sniper. apparently if you shoot a good group at 300 yards they pull you off the line and hand you a barret to shoot.

then he proceeded to tell me about how he was in a band for 15 years (even tho he was only in his late twenties likely), and used to do so much meth that his drug dealer actually moved in with him.

got the job done and went home at 8 in time to take a couple of hour long naps then go back and do another job til 5 where in spite of working at a media outlet with all the technology to correctly spread lies, I heard no such fantastic stories.

kind of an upside down day in a way but fun and satisfying and profitable.

I didn't get fired, so it was a pretty good day. Thanks for asking.

when queried why the USMC training corp didnt hand him an M40 first, the response was... "I guess thats just how they did it then!"

apparently the knowledge that the Barret is a lousy precision weapon never filtered thru during his tour, or that sniper positions are usually filled from the unit level, and that those selected usually have rank.

Strange. Musta been a wartime thing.

He also had no real answer why a trained scout sniper with combat experience would be working for $9/hr at a womans craft store either. I suspect the Meth had something to do with it.

I made a 30,000 copies, scanned 50 24"x36" plan sheets, and sold three sets of specs for a local municipality.

I washed my car at lunch, ate one White Castle.

    Cleaned the company popcorn machine.

My life can't get any better!
