I can sense from your keystrokes that you are just a little bloated today.

LOL. Actually I was a good girl yesterday. I stayed away from the starch and just had white meat turkey with a little gravy and collard greens.

But I did treat myself to a piece of Mommy's pecan pie.

    With whipped cream.

Just one yuuuuge plate, taters, stuffing, carrots, squash, green beans, turkey with as much gravy as it would hold. A few crescent rolls......and then a peice of apple pie...followed by a piece of pecan pie.

Gonna cook my own bird today...just a 12 and a half pounder...I'll be eating turkey all next week....gizzards and all.

I think I did pretty good yesterday. Was up at midnight (sick cat). Went to the gym at 4am, and got my hour in.

For lunch we went to the Menger Hotel (downtown San Antonio) for their Thanksgiving buffet. Had a plate of salad, then one plate at the buffet (bit of mashed potato, brussel sprouts, bit of sweet potato, some turkey, no dressing; but some cranberry sauce, and a slice of prime rib. No seconds. Splurged on desert (bit of bread pudding w/o ice cream, and a small slice of sugar free cheesecake). It was all good; but I felt full as a tick for the hour long trip back home. Could not look at food for the rest of the day. Pretty much a couch potato the rest of the day. Went to the gym the next morning, and I was the only one there. As I was finishing, another regular showed up with his wife. He said we were hardcore. Not sure I agree; but it sounded nice.

Hopefully I can be good this Sunday for the family Thanksgiving.

A whole pumpkin pie with a tub of cool-whip. I can eat turkey the rest of the year.

Ate way too much. So, basically, a normal Thanksgiving.

The brined then fried turkey came out really good this year. Two years ago it was too salty, so last year we rinsed it after brining and it was mediocre, this year I forgot about the rinsing and just plopped it in the oil and it came out great. You could taste the saltiness in the skin especially, but it was not overpowering at all.

Sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, etc etc. Mini apple pies and pumpkin/marshmallow pie for desert, drowned in whipped cream.

Then later in the evening turkey sandwiches!

Yea, I'm just groaning this morning!

We had ours last Sunday. I ate everything but I used a small plate. Had a leftover pie and I took it to work to get it out of my house. Seems most of the fellow employees have no clue how to cook or what homemade food is and always appreciate it.

Went on a 4 mile hunt with my dogs in the morning. Smoked a 12 lb. turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and dressing. We didn't over eat. No pies this year.

Way to much like many people... Tough not to when it's an Italian thanksgiving ( turkey sometimes never get eaten that day ) and lasts for 7 hrs in about 5 courses.

    Today, it's going light !

Not as bad as some years past, but I would probably need to run more than an extra mile to get rid of all those calories.
