So how many new Dollar General stores you got now?

We also have 2 Ollie's Bargain Outlets.

    www.olliesbargainoutlet.com

I've purchased hardback books, tarps, Progresso soup, Wye River clam chowder and 2 Lamiglas graphite spinning rods for $49 each and a cheap Shimano Sahara reel for $42.

I like the medium Lamiglas rod so much I put my Shimano Sustain 4000FE on it. Unfortunately, the good rods were a one time purchase from some chain store.

Yes, but what does the investor do after 10 years when the tenant decides to leave? The investor is then left with a building that has VERY limited uses. And if you do get a new tenant, more likely than not, they're going to rent the building for MUCH less than the original tenant. And lets say the building is in a great location, often times Dollar Gen, Family Dollar will leave once their lease is up and build a larger building next door. Net leases are a tricky beast!

Ehhh....they might have some cheap stuff but they also have some great prices on quality items, the same stuff you find at any other store. I guess I don't think so much of myself that I can't stop in. Great place for household cleaning items, detergent, drinks and some hygiene stuff.

And a junk yard has some great prices on some car parts. But do you want one in your neighborhood?

You guys are all wrong. Nothing destroys a neighborhood like a White Castle. HH

Yeah, I am not impressed by the quality of their merchandise.

I am not wealthy enough to buy cheap things.

I can only afford to buy something once so I buy quality.

I am sure they have good deals on some stuff there. My problem is I don't really consume much of what they sell. Now I've not gone through their shelves thoroughly but what I've seen is large quantities of junk/processed food.

I eat a lot of fresh fruit, vegetables, etc. I prefer to eat meat I've killed myself, although I certainly do buy some from the store as well as I can't keep chickens.

Snobbery isn't the only reason I don't go. I buy most of my work/casual clothes from Salvation Army. I have a sometimes dirty job, and in my spare time I work on cars/motorcycles, ride motorcycles, hike, camp, etc etc so it doesn't make sense to buy new clothes. I bought a pair of nice cargo pants, and ruined them the first day I wore them this spring. 2$, not a big deal.

Dollar Tree gets my vote. You can't beat their prices(everything is $1.00) and I buy stuff there that is much more expensive at Wal-Mart. They have many varieties of Arizona tea and many times have Monster and coffee drinks for much less that retail stores.

yes, they have junk too, but don't pass up their flavored coffees pouches. 7 oz for $1.00 makes them reasonably inexpensive and they are great!!. No, it is NOT Starbucks.

I have one about 2 miles from my house, and I live in what would be considered an upscale neighborhood... They have some of the best customer service that I've seen in some time, and as a small business owner, this is important to me. I only shop there for odds & ends, but I enjoy giving my business to them.

But it wouldn't be complete without:

    1. Skinny trashy guy with wife beater shirt and BO.

    2. Fat guy that thinks he's built with a MMA T-shirt.

    3. Fat woman wearing the same pair of sweat pants from last week leaning over the shopping cart that's full of junk food.

    4. More body odor and otherwise severely neglected personal hygiene, not to mention jacked up teeth.

    5. Two rather trashy overly tattooed women smoking generic cigarets talking about Roller Derby and how their boyfriend is such a drunk.
