27yo son, from wife's first marriage. I legally adopted him, so he's mine. USAF, for 7yrs now, probably going the distance.

16yo daughter. H.S. sophomore, I've posted several threads here of her playing violin.

Also a son, born 09/2005, who we lost at 23 months old.

I was blessed with two Sons. I am thankful daily for that amazing blessing.

16 years following my last child, God knew precisely what he was doing when He blessed me with my precious little girl. She is the apple of daddy’s eye, and I am amazed by her daily. I am not a religious man for sure, but I am a very thankful Dad.

2 biological sons from my first marriage, 2 step-daughters from my 2nd marriage, one of whom has returned to the family, and one step daughter from my 3rd marriage who is considered as one of mine. One honorary daughter who was my best friend's youngest.

I became a father at 48. But you'd have to get past the whole “don't want one issue”.

Three boys and two girls. Raised them on my own for eleven years. Four of them have done well, one hasn't. But I love them all. Their friends seem to gravitate toward my current wife and myself and we get adopted as "Momma Bear and Popeye" even if their own parents are around.

I don't have any kids. The wife wants some. I grew up knowing my parents were crossing their fingers, trying to cover checks that were in the mail. I don't live that way, but if I had to afford a kid... I don't want to raise a family that way.

I'm just trying to figure out the money before the clock runs out.

I was hesitant to have kids. I have 2. My business partner is the one who told me, "Nobody likes other peoples screaming kids...when they are yours its different." He was right [RIP Pete!]

Of course you have to be with a partner that is of like mind willing to share duties. A guy tells you, "Its your kid...I'm not changing diapers" is just a greedy azz that will make your life of catering to him miserable- time to move on. Same goes for women that fawn all over themselves.

One of the best decisions I've ever made....though I got a late start. I was always the oldest dad.....but it gave me an incentive to stay in top shape. Throw 300 pitches in BP 3 days a week- no problem. Plus it was fun watching guys 10 years younger struggling to beat me at the parents little league home run derby- they didn't.

Key is lots of love- be patient but stern. Imprint early on your kids whatever you want them to be. My buddy is a huge Soccer buff...won the NCAA title when he was in college...so he was kicking a ball with his kids since they could walk. His son got a scholarship to play at Holy Names and currently playing D1 soccer [though they weren't very good this last year]

My kids were OK athletes but top students. I read to them every day since they were born. My wife used to give me a hard time reading them "Call of the Wild" or "Where the red fern grows" when they were very young. Turns out it helps with all kinds of concentration and comprehension processes.

Trust your gut....some folks really shouldn't be having kids.
