Three snowmobilers face charges in Proctor incident Three snowmobilers from the St. Cloud, Minn.-area are being held in the St. Louis County Jail pending the filing of formal charges after breaking into a residence and assaulting the occupants early Saturday, Proctor police said. Police said there had been an altercation between some local residents and out-of-town snowmobilers earlier in the evening in the parking lot of the Tailgate Bar and Grill, 501 Third Ave., in Proctor. About 2:30 a.m., the snowmobilers followed the locals to a residence where the assault took place. A 26-year-old St. Cloud man, a 31-year-old St. Cloud man and a 30-year-old Cold Springs, Minn., man are being held on preliminary charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and damage to property. The Cold Springs man also is facing a fleeing-police-in-a-snowmobile charge.
