    Extended?!? You're kidding right? ;)

Lying (and his confessing to it) ought to get him booted from the FTO program. Now. Probationary employee, right? Facing criminal charges for falsely reporting a felony, and a violent felony one at that? Done. Look for work outside of police work.

If for some reason he's not criminally charged and convicted for lying about the incident and falsely reporting a crime, his usefulness is going to be severely diminished going forward for any statements he makes as a deputy in a report or during court room testimony. Can you imagine the defense attorneys bringing this up when he's a witness and they want jurors to wonder about his credibility?

The local news media ,never points out the political leanings of crooks unless they are on the party payroll or working for a candidate. The most recent ones indited locally were republicans. Lesson: If you are looking for sin free political operatives, forget it.

It is not relevant here. This is a LE forum discussing issues such as a new deputy fabricating falsehoods for various reasons. This is NOT a sub-forum for political discussions or for you to bend and twist your world view into false generalities.

I figured he was being droll and a bit sarcastic ... but I also really wanted to offer those opinions, too. ;)

As a former FTO I've had my experiences with special people, as well.

We don’t know it’s them. I certainly hope it is and we can get them finally classified as a terrorist organization, with a shoot on site order.

    Abso-freaking-lutely.

    Ahem ... except ...

All of us who work/worked in the LE know that politics and political affiliations don't mean squat for cops ... until it comes time for promotions, of course. :outtahere:

    :p

    Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I hear ya... i just thought i was still in the political side of the forum. At the right of the window, there is a "Latest Replies" section. I saw the new reply and just clicked on it a little to quick without realizing where it took me ahead of time. Yup, i understand the forum rules for the most part, i just clicked on the reply section without realizing. Sorry :(

No, no, no...not kidding at all. He gets an NRT, it gets noted on his weekly and he might need to be extended a couple weeks.

We had a couple of those in Lexington over the years I was there. One goofball ran the paddy wagon into the Sally port entrance and claimed he did it because he was taking fire.

Another one dropped a signal- 7 and claimed he got jumped and beat by a bunch of Mexicans away out in the county. It was assigned to Robbery/ Homicide for investigation, who proved it didn't happen pretty quickly, but the chief at the time didn't want to either prosecute him for false report or charge him internally. Never figured out how that guy ended up being protected since he was a basic white guy and not related to anybody that I know of.

The bigger problem is that this act of idiocy is national news. It shouldn't be, except there is the obvious agenda to make cops look bad every time the MSM has a chance.
