Funny you mention a S&W 325 Night Guard in .45 ACP; I ordered one, and am picking it up on Wednesday. From the small amount of reviews I've read, the Night Guard is a good weapon, although its rather big to be a snub-nose. I think its on the N-Frame, but I'm not sure, as I'm new to S&W Revolvers. One thing I was told, is to get lots of Moon Clips for it, as from what I understand, it will only fire with Moon Clips.

i believe the .45 auto rim was created specifically for these .45 acp revolvers, but i don't know if they offer the same ballistics.

doubletap offers 3 different loads, one of which looks like an ideal load for woods carry

I have a 325 Nightguard and I love it. It shoots right where the sights point. It's easy to shoot with not too much recoil. I put a Wilson spring kit in it and the action is extremely smooth. Better than my 325 Thunder Ranch from the Performance Center. It is now my plain clothes and off duty gun. A short mace case holds three loaded full moon clips and takes up very little room on my belt. I use a Don Hume JIT belt slide holster.
