The PF9 is uncomfortable to shoot. Stay away from anything small in .40 they are too snappy to control well.

I found the Glock 26 + cross breed holster to be the best conceal carry setup I have found.

The Walther PPS seems to get a lot of good reviews here.

PF9 is a great pocket carry gun-it is fairly accurate at 7 to 15 yards and although w/
hot 9mm h.p.'s it does hurt your hand a little ,but if you need to use it i don't think you
will feel the disconfort at all. and yes the walther pps is one nice carry gun and if you
have big pockets and utilize the smaller mag it too can be a great pocket or in waistband
    concealed handgun fwiw

I am going to go well against the grain here. The smallest 9mm or .40 semi-auto that I have seen that does not have common reliability concerns is the GLOCK 26 and 27 models. They are a little thick and blocky for me to carry though because they print badly for me.

I carry a S&W 442 no lock with 38+p rounds. The projectile is very comparable to a 9mm. It doesn't really print as a gun. It just looks lumpy.

S&W and Taurus has made J frame revolvers that use moon clips for 9mm and .40 ammo. Fairly quick reloads using the moon clips too.

I'd jump all over you for beating this whole sub-compact 9mm thing to death, except that if these threads start going viral maybe manufacturers will get the hint that a good solid miniature 9mm would be one hot seller.

But I'm of the opinion that Kahr is probably the leader for the price.

Out of all the choices you listed, I like the PPS best.

I've had a PPS 40 for almost a year now. For carry it is a dream. It is also easier to control than the G27

Maybe not the smallest but the best is a Glock 26, not that hard to conceal with a good IWB holster.

I've had a Kahr MK40 for 4-5yrs now.....it's been ultra reliable, accurate, and I have no problem handling the recoil. Some people may have problems with it, but I have a good strong grip from a lifetime of lifting weights. I suspect many of you reading this have self-doubts, and in actuality, will have no problems with it either.....the only thing holding you back is hearing from those who can't handle it.......(wimps!)

It's small, thin, a tad on the heavy side, but do-able. It's about the biggest I can use for pocket carry. J frames, which I tried very hard to pocket-pack......are just a little too much for me and my tastes........I prefer to suit the gun to my attire......not dress around the gun.

Out of the 3 , I would go with the PPs , but for me I carry a g27 IWB and a S&W642 in a galco pro158 pocket holster and loaded with speer gold dot 135gr+p short barrel ammo, I feel confident carrying it.
