I recently purchased a new Gen 4 Glock 21. After roughly 300 rounds of various ammo, I've had no malfunctions whatsoever. However, upon close inspection of my used casings, most of them have a nick or a scratch about 1/8" long (running side to side) and approximately 1/4" below the case mouth.

I've ruled out the scratches being caused by the cases hitting the slide upon ejection (I slowly extracted and ejected a round and the scratches persist). I see no obvious burrs in the chamber or on the feed ramp. Like I said, function has been perfect, so I'm guessing this is not something to fret over??

Thanks.

some brass damage from feeding cycle is to be expected. as long as the gun works no need to concern yourself.
Exactly. Brass is soft, steel is MUCH harder. You get brass damage from many things: the magazine feed lips, the extractor, ejector, slide, chamber, etc. The ONLY time you need to worry is if your gun starts malfunctioning. Otherwise, you're good. If you post pictures, I'll try to help you figure out what's doing it, but it doesn't matter.
