If I wanted to get a light railed frame from caspian, to fit to a slide, how much would this cost at a gunsmith online or local. It will possibly be a duty weapon, and I would do the add on rail but i believe they hand the light to low to fit in holsters for light mount 1911s.

Send the slide to Caspian and they will fit it for a nominal fee. Plus they will ship it back with the frame to save you a few dollars than if you send it out to another smith.

The "add on rail" like a Dawson is very popular. There are plenty of holster makers making holsters for a Dawson rail.

The only problem with dawson it on works with Surfire lights. I was looking a novak one, are there holster that will work with it and a tlr-1?

The Dawson only works with a Surefire 200/300 series.

Exactly. I will probably have one put on my 5" after I pay off my Brown. Want a railed 5" that I can hang a X300 on for a house gun.

Never seen a Valor with one. That will look sweet as hell. My next gun is probably going to be a Kobra with the same build specs as my Kobra Carry, but I really dislike the way the factory Brown rails look. Who did your Dawson?

John Harrison did it while the Baer was up there getting a makeover.

I'll install the next Dawson myself.

If you are just drilling that out then dropping the rail on it, that doesn't require a refinish does it?
