I am considering sending my g23 slide off to glock for refinishing and would like to hear any experiences of others who had this done. How long did it take? How did it look? Etc... Thanks.

Im looking at sending it to smyrna for glock warranty refinish so i was asking about experiences with that but i appreciate your reply. Thanks.
Glock refinished the slide of my circa 1989 G21 a couple of years ago when they machined it to install one of the new chamber witness ejectors. There was no charge, but not only did the finish look not-so-great, they also ground or sanded down the factory lettering on the slide to the point it was nearly unreadable.

They actually said they had to send it out somewhere themselves, and it took about 7 weeks.

Im leary that something of that nature might happen to mine, ive also been considering lone wolf because they offer black oxide refinishing but have questions as to theyre quality as well.

My concern about refinishing it would be that what ever caused it to be refinished would end up causing it to be refinished again. My concern with having Glock do it would be that they seem to have several different finishes. I had a pistol refinished, not a Glock, and while it came out nice, I know it added little to to value of the gun compared to the cost.

I plan to have a revolver refinished by Robar with a NP3 finish. Heard only good reviews for Robar. Reasoning for refinishing the revolver is I don't like the original finish (S&W Model 638). For my Glock pistols, I want the pistols to develop a bit of patina and character marks with regular use. I don't abuse my guns but I do use them as much as I possible can. I'll never refinish my Glock pistols.

Now that's sweet! I had considered a hard chrome upper job from LoneWolf or RYG. They get rave reviews, but I would prefer a blue black chrome, but not sure it's tuff snuff....I just love the Will Smith "Bad Boys 2" look though. Which is tougher?
