I stripped the G20C the other day for cleaning and when I put it back together I realized that the slide lock is not symetrical front to back. Its the part that you pull down for takedown. The part that holds the slide open is the slide release right?
One side of this part has a groove milled into it going from left to right, the other side is flat. I have the top to bottom difference figured out the bottom has a notch for the spring. I put it together one way and it looked like the slide sat too far back on the frame. I flipped it around and it seemed to look more correct. The gun went fully into battery both ways.
    Which way is right?

The upper 'tab' of my 38's slidelock, which I"ve never had out, has its depression to the rear.

The tooth faces rearward. It engages the barrel lug, otherwise the slide goes off the front of the gun when you fire it. Not good.

+1 I put it in backward on my G32 some years back and it was disconcerting to have the slide not stay in place. :embarassed:
