Ok I’ve people say it’s possible to shoot a pump gun to where it seems as though you are shooting a semi-auto. I’m would imagine it take a ton of practice then it becomes muscle memory. Is there any one shotgun better than the other for ease of cycling the slide. Would love a auto loader but. Don’t want to spend that much. Until I see if I like bird hunting.

Winchester 1300 "speed-pump". It unlocks the breach and almost starts pumping on it's own.

When I was young I could shoot my 870 as fast as my buddies could shoot their 1100's. Never hit anything, but was fast.

Must have been one of those 'Joe Biden' models: make lots of racking noise to scare evil doers (alleged), but never hit anything :)

I got fairly quick with an 870 after some practice, but it's really easy to short-stroke under pressure. Had to work on that part for a while before I was confident.

Kinda like a standing pistol reload, you have to initiate the stroke right off the discharge. Imagine the discharge is what's causing the cycle - like it's a semi, and you're just holding onto it.

Things like the older Ithaca Model 37s and Winchester Model 12's dont have a disconnector, and will slamfire on the bolt closing. All you have to do is keep the trigger depressed as you work the action.
