Just working away one minute and the next the top of my index finger is tore away and I'm looking at a bone. A few Doctors looked and wouldn't touch it so I'm in the operating room waiting on my turn to be fixed by the ortho surgeon. This was not what I planed for the day. Ugh thanks for listening.

Oh no. Not your trigger finger I hope! Not that it's not bad enough. Best wishes and prayers for your full recovery.

Was holding the hammer with my right hand and holding the stake with my left hand and must of missed the stake with a short swing and as my hand passed by the stake it caught my right index nuckel and ripped it up and back. Bone is mostly ok it seems but the tendons is a big concern at the moment. Just wish they would hurry lol

Sorry - hopefully they can do something for the pain short term if they have not already and that surgery solves the problem long term.

Sounds awful! I always worried about that when I was doing foundation work. Luckily, it never happened. Make sure you take all your post-op antibiotics, all the way through. Heal up quick.

Some superglue and duct tape, you'll be fine.

    Good luck, again.

Ouch! I drove a few stakes with a sledgehammer. After a few near misses, I put that on the back burner until I got the post tool. Eff that.

I've driven 1000s maybe tens of thousands of stakes. I always get them started slowly with the side of a small sledge hammer then finish them without a hand on the stake.

I always thought time was very important on reattaching body parts doesn't seem like they're in a rush.

Years ago, one of my coworkers lost the tip of his finger in a machine at a customers office. I got the job of cleaning up the mess, and putting the equipment back together. When the customer inquired about the injured co-worker, I told them that he was fine, and not to worry. We always give our customers the finger!

Some people have no sense of humor!

Hang in there, I hope it gets better!!
