I talked about this last year around Thanksgiving, but I wanted to share with you guys (probably for the bachelors, mainly) my VERY simple, yet VERY tasty Oreo pie recipe.

I guess I could name it Cool-Oreo. I may have seen this recipe here on the Food Forum last year.

It's so simple guys, a 7 year old could make it, and this could be a great idea for some of you parents.

    INGREDIENTS:
You take one of those aluminum pie dishes, usually about 8 or 10 inches in diameter and 4-5 inches deep. You need one large tub of Cool Whip (plain or flavored is up to you). One normal size package of Oreo cookies (regular old-fashioned kind). And one large cup of milk.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
With a spoon or a spatula, make about a half inch layer of Cool Whip on the bottom of the pie dish. Then take Oreo cookies and soak them momentarily (not an exact science, maybe about 5 seconds or so) in the large cup of milk. Make a single flat layer of Oreo cookies on top of your layer of Cool Whip. As many as will fit flat without stacking any on top of one another. Try not to drip too much excess milk into the pie dish. Once you have your base Cool Whip Layer and your Oreo cookie layer, simply repeat until you get to the top of the pie dish or until you run out of cookies. Make the top layer a Cool Whip layer, and if you like, do something imaginative to decorate the top of your pie, if you like. Refrigerate until you are ready to set it out for eating.

So simple, so fool-proof, and yet so incredibly tasty. I got many compliments on how simple and good this "Cool-Oreo" recipe is.

Yep, you saw it here ;)

And I heard it in an Oral Communications class several years ago :)

I have yet to find anything to beat it! It is even better the second day, if there is any left ;e

Ahh, thank you Miss Kitty ;)

You know, I refuse to learn anything more complicated than this great little Oreo pie. Why hassle? People love this thing!

You can have one or two, but I've found that you pretty much use almost every cookie during layering.

    Funny stuff though. ;)

I'll have to try that recipe, but I'll need to use a different type of cookie as I don't like oreos. (;P YUP! You Read right!! I SAID IT!!! ;P) Those ones with the Vanilla cookies and the Chocolate creme are good though. Hey I'll bet you could do the same recipe with peanut butter cookies and peanut butter instead of cool whip and oreos. And I'd throw some Rese's Pieces or some M&M's in there too. Guaranteed to make the diabetics of the family jealous.

    Walter,

I was getting ready to write you off for not liking Oreos then I noted you like peanut butter so you must be OK ;)

That's exactly why I mentioned that, misskitty. I figured it'd help redeem myself to some of you oreo lovers. One of my favorite ways to eat peanut butter cookies is to spread peanut butter all over the top of them and cover the whole thing with reese's pieces.

It has to be crunchy peanut butter though, and honestly, I think one spoonful is enough for me.

You know what I love? Nutella.

I've you've never heard of it, this is what it looks like.

God that stuff is so good as a sandwich by itself. Really the best way to eat it, too. Have a glass of milk close by.

Hey ALL i tried making this oreo pie this past weekend and it was a smash!! I got 2 packs of oreos cuz i knew once i started the dunking part i would not be able to resist eating them than laryering them. I made one in a 10" pan and after the resting in the fridge, it was total devastation!! ;P My friends and myself tore it up ;f

    I will try another one using nutter-butters!! ;c ;c
