I haven't yet received the last pistol I bought. Then again I just bought some Silver last weekend. However, I have enough scraped together to buy either some silver bullion or a Sigpro 2022. I could buy one for $480 OTD w/ 2 mags and night sights.

Only thing stopping me from buying the Silver is that I'm not sure if the price on the Sig is so good that it probably won't be that low in the future.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks!

As a speculative investment silver is probably better, but maybe not by a whole lot. You could make or lose money on either.

You won't be able to take silver to the range and shoot it though.

A firearm seems like a much better investment to me.

Firearm is easier to sell. The sleeper market right now is stones. Gems, or diamonds. You can get them cheap, the market is way down, because the settings are getting sold off for weight. Check it out.

If you don't already have a good sidearm I'd say get one.

If you do have a good sidearm I'd say go for the silver. It hasn't spiked with gold the way it historically does, I think it's under valued right now.

Is layaway an option on the Sig? Traditionally that will give you another 90 days and will hold the price. Just don't get in over your head financially, that's a surefire disaster.

Are you an EMT? Just wondering because of your handle.

Too bad you didn't buy before Dec 31, because CDNN has the Sig Pro for 399 and Sig was offering the $50 rebate for first responders.

Silver is more risky, but with greater risk you have the potential for more rewards. A firearms is more of a "safe bet" that won't crash in value. You never know with silver.

I am not an investment specialist, but my opinion is that silver and gold are topped out for the time being. Unless the economy crashes the rest of the way I don't see silver or gold going up much more. If it does crash the rest of the way, that silver and gold will be virtually worthless when you are trading toilet paper for a loaf of bread. I am not saying that the end is nigh. I just think it would take something serious to make metals rise much more. As I always say 'remember that gold and silver have no real value, we just pay alot for them because we like pretty, shiny things'.

In closing, get the gun. A good gun is always a safe investment.

Guns are a poor investment. The first year Kimbers are the only modern guns I know that turn a consistent profit, and there aren't many of those around. Buy guns for fun, defense, showpieces, etc, but don't expect a great cash return.

??? You would be wrong, in my experience. Ive made much more profit, even considering inflation on the sell of well bought firearms than precious metals. And Ive traded ALOT of both. Would you please tell where and how you came up with your "Kimber Theory" ?

I don't know how modern you are thinking, but off the top of my head: Chinese AKs, Makarovs, Israeli UZIs, Sig P6, Saiga 12ga, HK P7 PSP, are all examples of firearms that have close to doubled in value, if not more as time goes on. Also of mention is machine guns. No more can be registered, and prices do nothing but clime. It really depends on what you buy.

Maybe I should buy a few dozen for my wife's tennis bracelet now and then in 4 years I'll give it to her. ;)

That sucks!! So Sig isn't still doing it??

I thought there was some rebate going on. That really bites that I can't take advantage of it now. And yeah I'm an EMT. Glock at least has the program going constantly. I've bought close to a half-dozen at the LEO price AND got an extra mag free!!!

I'm just curious if this is a great price for the Sig or if there should be better deals in the future?

    Thanks!

And when the Mexican-American War starts you can't fight them off with silver.

We are going to need all the guns we can get!

    Get the Sig.
