I have a problem here.I found a silencer I like for my AR15.Iam currently in the Army(91W).When I finally get my paperwork back with the tax stamp what happens to my silencer if I get orders to go oversees.I currently do not have warning orders to go oversees and have not heard any "talk" of my unit leaving. Can I leave it with a buddy of mine?I would appreciate any help I can get.

Just store it somewhere.....cheapest place is a safty deposit box in a bank.(small boxes cost somewhere between 25-50 dollars a year.) Leave your paper work with it, and the Key with a trusted relative.
Or get one of those small lockable safes and lock it away(with the paperwork) and leave the safe with a trusted relative.
good luck and thank you for your service.

A free way to store it is to sign it in with your unit armorer. They can sign in POWs for storage. Your Silencer falls into the items that would be allowed.

Yes, this is true, but personally, I would NOT trust checking it into the arms room. My $.02

I agree with the safe deposit box idea; banks can charge you a small amount to rent a security box; and leave the key to someone you trust, like your close relatives.
