I am curious. Is the Sigma's .40's black finish carbon steel or blackened stainless?
Also, I just ordered 100 rounds of .40 caliber 135 grain hollow points from Cabela's(they have an awsome sale right now) Will these Federal wide mouth hollowpoints feed in a Sigma .40 caliber?

It was like a ghetto tennifer over stainless.

Not quite. Tennifer is the process that hardens the steel. The black finish is then applied over the tennifer.
You can remove the black finish from a Glock. The Tennifer and the black finish are two different things.

The black Sigma finish was compared to the Glock finish back in the day.
I highly doubt that S&W actually went to the trouble to harden the steel like the Tennifer process would have.
The slide will be stainless for sure, but I would imagine the black was just some type of bake on finish.
