Howdy all...newbie to the forum and thinking about getting into a GSSF match or two this summer here in NC.

My questions deal with parts for Glocks...I'm getting an M19, and I'll be selling my M27. Before I do, though, I'd like to take off the 'add ons' that I've done to the 27 to make it a better defensive pistol; I added Meprolight 3-dot sights and an Aro-tek extended slide release. Would those 'mods' make the pistol illegal for a GSSF match? Are the Ashley Outdoors 'Express' sites illegal?

Remember, as a newbie, I don't want to go up against the 'pro' level guys with the race guns; I just want to use my Glock that I'll optimize for home defense and fun shooting.

    Thanks!

The Aro-Teck extended slide stop lever is not permitted and not needed in GSSF. Meps are OK, as are all traditional notch and post design sights. Express Sights, Ghost Rings and Fiber Optics are only permitted in Unlimited, whre the big boys play.

Keep in mind that GSSF is basically a Box Stock Competition. Any Glock made parts are allowed.

Thanks, DannyR...I guess I'll be looking at the Glock Extended Slide Stop Lever and maybe the 3.5 lb trigger.

I didn't realize the rules were that strict, but I guess it helps keep uber-expensive guns and those that can afford to own them from dominating matches.

    Thanks again!

Unless your 34 is one of the new 3-pin types, don't the 17/17L and 34 take a slide stop that's different from all other Glocks?

The G35 style extended slide stop will fit in a 17/34, but you'll be able to push it up much further than intended...though I suppose the slide would have to be off the frame in order for that to be noticable.
