FIRST: I will be shooting my G38 in our monthly Defensive Pistol Match. I will also conceal carry it mostly in the Day Time. I also have a quick attach Weapon Mounted Light I can easily pocket carry and attach in about 5 seconds, and I also pocket carry a 500 Lumen Flash Light.

I have noticed that using the Weapon Mounted Light night sights are useless. All you see is a Black Front Sight against the illuminated target.

With that in mind I am seriously considering going with a Black Combat Rear Sight, and a Fiber Optic front sight. In my old age I see the Fiber Optic front sight much better than a normal Glock Factory Night Sight in daylight. Dots on the back sight are a distraction to me also.

I have a TFO Front and Black Combat Back sight combination on my G23. This combination works pretty well, but I believe it is discontinued.

Ideal would be the Truglo TFX Pro Front Sight with a Black Combat Back Sight. I have checked and Truglo will not just sell a TFX Pro Front Sight, or the Sight set with a Black Combat Back Sight. The sight would be overly expensive to order the TFX Sight Set and pitch the rear sight and replace it with a Black Combat Back Sight. That would get me where I want to be, only the cost would be around $200 doing that.

Any recommendations or preferences on a Fiber Optic front sight with Black Combat Rear sight set for Match use as well as concealed carry?

Well, I just installed the new Ameriglo FBI sites on my G38.
Along with the Inforce APLc light.

Used it for a night shooting class. The sights really popped for my eyes.
As for FO, my G22 has the Hiviz FO front.

It works, too. That's with the Glock adjustable rear.
Good luck in your quest.

I found one that looks good earlier today. tacticalshooting.com has the Pro Sight, Combat Carry. It comes in a couple versions. White Dot Front and Fiber Optic Front sight.
The Rear sight is adjustable, but not in the normal way. We normally think about screw adjustments on an adjustable rear sight which are a little on the weak side. This one windage adjusts in the sight dove tail like a fixed sight. The elevation adjustment is done by way of a shim pack. You initially shoot for Zero at 12 yards from a sand bag position. Then you add shims that each moves the bullet impact up 1/2 inch to achieve zero. You put the screw back in place in the rear sight base to lock every thing back in place. The sight set is $135. Fairly expensive for a Fiber Optic sight set until you consider the rear adjustable sight. It is worth looking at.

The Ameriglo FBI sights look good. I have been looking at them also.

I believe I have a Warren Tactical back on my G35 with a Dawson Fiber Optic on the front. It is not bad.

My Handgun Weapon Mounted Light is an older pre-LED M3X with the Bar Lock System that is no longer being used on the current TLR1 lights. It has the tail switch with Momentary ON by pushing the Left end of the switch UP, and ON pushing the Right end UP. The Bar is like a Glock Slide Lock Bar. Just pull down on both ends of the Bar, and slide it on the Rail. Vest Pocket to installed in 5 seconds or less would be a good estimate. Not nearly as secure as the current screw attachment, but much faster to mount when pocket carried.

Bob, I just installed an Inforce APLc on my G 38. I have a new G 38 I am still building with a Trijicon RMR adn a surefire XC-1, but its not ready for carry yet. Something to consider is when using your night sights and a light is to illuminate the target just long enough to identify it as a threat and the move back behind cover and use the night sights to fire at that location.

Checking different Sight Options over the last few weeks. I finally decided to swap out the Wilson Combat Vicker Battle Sights (Black Combat Rear and Green FO Front) that I have on my Gen 4 G35, and put them on the Gen 3 G38. I will then put an even better sight set for Defensive Pistol Match's on the G35. Looking at the Dawson Adjustable Black Combat Rear and FO front combination. (310-109) $118.95.
The sight swap went without incident this evening. The Vicker Battle Sight with the Green Fiber Optic Front is a huge improvement over the dim Glock factory Night Sights.
My next Brownell order I do need to get a better front sight tool. The one by HiViz looks pretty good. I may do a little checking before making my order. I am planning on another round of G37 Magazines on the same order. They are still on sale at $19.99 ea.
