So, I saw Act of Valor three times and have the book. Now I really want to get the P226 Navy.

Anyone else have this gun or 226 variation? Thoughts or Opinions?

Local gunshop told me I could get it for $900. Anyone else find it cheaper somewhere else?

My brother is issued a P226 and I had the chance to shoot it over Christmas. It's a tank, but shoots awesome. His was 40. I wouldn't pay $900 for it, though, no way, but that's just me.

YES. Heck buddy, people buy guns based on movies all the time. Video games too. I've always thought about getting a Sig and now thanks to the movie, I want one.

You know there's a tad bit of difference between a video game and a handgun, right?

Duh! I'm not one of those Call of Duty fan boys who boasts about guns based on "knowledge" "learned" solely from games.

I know there is a BIG difference.

Nothing wrong with wanting one. Just don't go around thinking you are a Navy SEAL after you get it.

Oh I am. I hope I am wrong because I suspect you are old enough to buy a handgun or soon will be.

Geez guys. Give the man a break! He based his wants on a movie about real life seals and the actual gun they use. Go ahead and buy you a Sig 226. Look around and you should be able to get it for less though.

I am 21, going on 22. I have had a Glock 23 Gen4 (my first gun) since April 2011. I also have my Ohio CHL and am an active everyday ccw'er.

What is different about the Navy variation? I don't know that $900 is out of line for a Sig - they tend to be pretty pricey. Honestly that is one reason I've never really wanted a Sig - I haven't figured out what it can do that a Glock can't (hey, I'm on a budget here). Also I have short fingers and the trigger reach is a bit much for me.

After OBL got DOA there was supposedly a big demand for Sigs because "it was the gun that killed Bin Laden."

I think it came out later that an M4 was actually used though.

The Navy SEAL Model (aka Mk 25) has the Navy Anchor logo etched/engraved on the slide and the gun has a special phosphate coating on it that help protect it in maritime environments. It is also only chambered in 9mm and comes standard with Night Sights.

    I heard the same thing.

If you think about it though, how many people bought a Beretta based solely on Mel Gibson and Lethal Weapon? How many people have purchased a .44 thanks to Dirty Harry and so on and so forth.

FireArmsResQ on youtube based his Glock 17, Berertta M92FS, .357 Magnum and so on solely due to his love for the Resident Evil franchise.

I got the Glock 23 Gen4 for the sole purpose that I loved the way it felt in my hands, I love the .40 round, etc.

The Sig 226 Navy will probably be one of the few guns I ever buy in my lifetime that was because of a movie.
