Can anyone comment on this conversion kit. I am considering a purchase for my 229. I know it is pricey, but would be neat to practice with the 229. How is the quality and accuracy.

    Thanks

    Depends on where I am.
There are a considerable number of people on Sig Forum who may wish to comment on the .22 conversion.

I bought one for my SIG 228 and it doesn't fit. Waiting for shipping label from SIG to return kit and my lower (frame) to be fitted. Mine is an early SIG 228 but is the same frame size as 229. One other thing that is odd is that the one they make for the 228/229 has a longer frame/barrel and won't fit holster made for 228/228 unless something like belt slide. I tried the kit on a longer 226 and found out that SIG just didn't shorten the 226 barrel/slide to make 228. They redigned the whole gun.

My friend has one. It will only run reliably with minimags. If you reload, 9mm only costs a bit more than minimags. Not really worth it in my opinion.

I have the 229 in .22lr. Mine is reliable with Mini-Mags but nothing else, though others report that theirs works reliably with the cheaper bulk packs from Federal and Remington.
