It's a great rifle built like a tank.

    Excellent weapon.
One thing I like is how easy it is to clean afterwards.

Best 5.56 rifle I have used

I kinda did the same thing with my CMMG AR. The thing runs fine, but some posters on other sites downplay it, so I got worried. You know what, it's your money and your rifle. If you like it, you have it set up nicely and it shoots what you put in it, who cares what other people say?

I have heard a few bad things about the 556 but mostly good. Just like with anything these days.

    Enjoy it!

You own one, you should be the judge of what your rifle can do. Does it have canted rails? does it have the carrier/receiver wear issue? The problem with the Sig 556 lies with quality control (or in this case, lack-there-of). Mine has been great, other people have had bad luck. However, from all of my experience with them you either get a good one or a bad one right off the bat. You don't get a good one and then 2000 rounds down the road have it go bad.

    This is mine:

Even this picture isn't quite up to date as I put a vortex flash suppressor on it yesterday and have a magpul AFG and rail panels en route.

Great rifle. Only problem I have is it eats a lot of ammo, about 4500 rds so far.I even did a 1000 rd test with wolf and had no problems .

I have two. The only bad thing I can say is they bang the living crap out of the casings when extracting.

    If you aren't a reloader, this isn't a problem.

I just bought a Sig 556 Classic. Had a chance to put a few mags thru it today. Very nice shooter. I'm impressed. Field stripping it is about the easiest thing I've ever done. I watched my brother in law strip his AR15 a few times and it sure looked like a pain.

    Sweet, especially the top one.

However, are you sure that scope isn't on backwards? It sort of looks that way to me at least relative to all the other 1-4ish scope I have seen.

Just under 2000 rounds through it. I finally got to take it out with 68gr match ammo. The range was only 50 yards, and I shot at 25 yards (i'll take it out to 100 when the outdoor range gets dug up). At 25 yards my best group was about 1/2". That makes it 2MOA. I was actually expecting the rifle to be around 4MOA, so I'm pleased.

I just bought a second Sig 556 and it went back to Exeter the day after I got it. There were so many problems it wasn't funny. The rail that the bolt carrier rides on was coming un-welded from the upper receiver. It had the dreaded hump, and the bolt carrier wasn't quite as refined as my older rifle.

I love mine. I went with the Troy quad rail and have absolutely no complaints. My 556 doesnt like wolf ammo, but thats ok, neither do I :)

Best thing you can do is do your research, buy what you like, then don't worry about what everyone else says about it. Shoot it, and enjoy it.

I think the OP already bought one. Like I said before, with the Sig 556 you either get a bad one right out of the box, or you get a good one. My first one was good, and is good, and will most likely continue to be good.

My second one will most likely be scrapped by Sig (really, it was that bad). I'm sure they'll replace it, I just hope they replace it with a good one (no hump, please).
