I have a chance to buy a demo model of a Sig 229 .40 for $550(in Iowa), I haven't seen it yet because it is on the other side of the state but it is supposed to still be in the plastic cover, and have a lifetime warranty, has any one ever bought or know of demo models? thanks

My uncle has purchased many "demo" model handguns over the years. The ones that he has gotten looked brand spanking new. But sometimes people aren't always that lucky. But at that price, definately worth a look. Goodluck. ;I

Have bought a couple of SIG Demo's in the last 6 yr's. All were
in very good to exc. shape. However, I'd find out if this 229 is
SIG FACTORY Demo. This usually insures that the gun was looked over by Exeter assuming it had any real use at all.
In the near past even thier Cop "Turn-In" guns came with a new box,
    manual & trigger lock, etc.
Sometimes "Demo's" are nothing more than salesman's samples that are
handled a lot and fired very little but do have some minor scratches & dings. Point is any dealer, etc. can label a gun "Demo".
