Semi inspired from Rabbi's 'Strangest Job' thread...

Share a 'minute or minor detail' from whatever you happen to be working on or doing today. A screenshot, a picture, an anectdote, a cut and paste, whatever.

I find the 'details' of even normal, everyday stuff to be fascinating!

Here's what I'm currently working on:

I'm trying to figure out why a body shop told one of my customers to just get some touch up paint for a chip they caused on his $80k BMW...

I'm the referee between the body shop and the customer; not fun...

I am trying to understand why my customers think I don't need a lunch break too. They all want to drop off stuff so I can work on it "during lunch." Whose lunch? Mine or their's?

i prepping for a scrap metal run tomorrow so i'm breaking down and sorting all sorts of appliances and sorting brass, copper, aluminum, and steel. i popped the back on an old stove and found a dead wasp nest the size of a basketball, unfortunately it was so old and brittle that it shredded when i tried to get it out in 1 piece.

and here's a fun little fact, if you leave a box of church's fried chicken in a broken deep freeze for over a year it will liquify.

I'm painting my youngest daughter's soon-to-be-bedroom. Lime Green, Limer Green, and Limest Green. Actually, that last green is kind of yellowish. But she wanted hills on her walls, so she could stick paper trees and flowers and bees and stuff on the wall. And a sun and a rainbow. The sun I can find at the craft/home dec store. The rainbow will be a fabric scarf. Everything else she is currently cutting out of paper...

The inmates are in charge of the asylum here, can you tell?

Laying in bed enjoying the last day of my "weekend". I love working 4 on 3 off.

Sent from the Titanic. I named my phone "The Titanic" so when I plug it into the computer it says "The Titanic is syncing".

I work for a pump company that, as a result of mergers and such, owns Ingersoll Rand's pump line. As I was digging in old file cabinets, I went back as early as I could find. Here is an original data card on a pump that shipped in 1905 to F.W. Heilmann, and was later sold to Humble Oil Co (which with Standard Oil became Exxon) in 1927. I have many file cabinets of these with original files from then until the 1990s, when they went computerized. A lot of these refineries are using pumps that are WWII era that have been rebuilt many times. These pumps are like 1911s, in that they haven't improved or changed dramatically since the turn of the 20th century.

Same here. Since almost everything I do at my present government job is confidential and not allowed to be disclosed by law, it's not going to be easy to do this.

And, it would be boring to most people anyway. Lots of paper.

Basically, nothing. Just fixed some coffee in the Keurig. I've been up since 0900 and have done nothing productive and have only had a handfull of Emerald Cocoa Roasted Almonds and some water today.

Honestly, I've sat in the recliner and played on the laptop and watched TV all day.

Wife'll be hone about an hour and I guess we'll figure out, then, what to do for dinner.

Still trying to get the latest IP cam on wireless.

My second oldest daughter is a commercial artist. She painted a picture on my Son's bedroom wall of a motorcyclist in mid-jump during a dirt track race.

    Work was beautiful.

Took many more coats of paint in later years to cover the image. Ridges kept showing through.

But, he was the envy of his friends in grade school.

forgot to add, it took up the whole wall, lifesized.
