The idea was originally proposed by Ben Franklin as a joke, but somehow this ridiculous concept became law. I say it's time to end this farce, what say you?

But how will we beat the Nazis and Japs if we don't save daylight?

    YES!

The time must remain "the correct time"...
The hours that businesses are open and schools, work, etc...
That can be changed, but the time is what it is.
    The whole thing is insane.
I was just telling my wife we should all just pretend that the snow level is lower than it is so the ski season will start sooner.

I have always hated this manipulation of time. Spilt the difference at one-half hour and leave it be!

There's a lot more history to it then Ben Franklin. The War had quite a bit too. I like the concept and it should stay.

I think we should go on a permanent Daylight Saving Time. I'd rather the light in the evening than the morning.

Time is arbitrary. I say we move it forward an hour and leave it there year round so there's more daylight after work.

But, but, it's for the children!

Completely ignoring the fact that I rarely see kids walking to school these days, even when they live 2 blocks away.

The state of Arizona already dropped the idea years ago, and our clocks stay the same year round.

Look in the timezone settings in any Windows PC. There's a special timezone for just Arizona so that your computer will not automatically change the clock twice a year.

I'm torn. I have friends who live in town and their adorable 12 year old daughter walks through a part of town that isn't the greatest on her way to school every morning. DST means she walks in light, not dark, which I'm hoping means somewhat safer.
