The democrats have told us that they’re going to steal the election in the courts, pack the SCOTUS, and get rid of the filibuster if they take the Senate. The GOP will have no power if this happens. None. Should the GOP play nice when that has been laid out on the table? Right now the only people who can stop a quick confirmation is the GOP leftists.

If the position isn’t filled, then the court will split 4-4 worst case and it will then be a loss for the left if somehow (and I’m not sure how that would happen, but it has in the past) the SC gets to decide the election.

Whomever brought their case to the courts? So, if the dems go to the courts to decide to overthrow the vote, they would lose?

Read jeanerson’s post below. It’s “correcter” than what I posted.

A tie is a loss for anyone appealing a lower court ruling. For example, given a liberal state or district court saying that WI must count all votes no matter when the ballot "shows up" (in somebody's closet or car trunk), anyone appealing that decision loses their appeal. WI cheats, gets a liberal court to allow the cheating, and no one can stop them.

I had to ponder the question, but voted yes.....bring forth a SCOTUS nominee right now.

How would this be viewed, in context with the Trump vs Biden election?

One thing is for certain, the D's will make this a clown show. I doubt the nominee will be confirmed before the election

I'm sure that when the time comes, the new nominee will be called a racist, a rapist, a Nazi, and whatever else the loony left has as their salty flavor of the day.

Enough RINOS have already thumbs down voting on a nominee. More timid GOP Senators will follow. Trump can nominate all he wants but the Senate is already signaling that they will not stand. So what do you do? At best you can throw a name out there and get back to the business of getting re-elected. Absolutely everything that we hold dear depends first and foremost on getting DJT re-elected and holding the senate.
You have to pick your battles. Thousands of small businesses are still dying everyday from martial law in the USA. Most of them at this point are trying to figure out how to keep their houses and all that they’ve struggled to build. The bottom line is that holding the White House and at least the Senate has to take precedence at this point. If DJT is re-elected then he has the mandate to push his choice of a Justice through the Senate.

Of course he should. I'm in the Amy Barrett camp. This would tie the Democrats in knots.

Is this a trick question? It’s the president’s job to appoint justices to keep the Supreme Court fully functional! Trump should be reprimanded if he has not already vetted candidates and can immediately nominate a Ginsberg replacement. Just like any professional CEO with responsibilities.

Absolutely, as soon as possible. Libs don’t play nice and neither should we.
Another conservative justice appointment is far more important than Trump winning the election. At best we only get 4 more years from him, but the SC appointment is for life.

Time to stick it in and break it off. Opportunities like this don’t come by often.

This! Because the Dems are already talking about getting rid of filibusters "when" they take control of the Senate.

I predicted as much ... so much for McConnell's gentlemanly rules for the Senate which are so much horse dung! It gives them inappropriate power which in no way will continue to be reciprocal when the Dems finally take the Senate.

Using language the liberals will appreciate, it's time to "re-imagine" the Supreme Court in terms of a Republican super-duper majority.

Nominate the new Justice immediately President Trump! With all the vile rhetoric directed at the police and middle class Americans this is no time to be all John McCain-ny and play nice with the opposing side.

Is this a trick question? Of course yes. The democrats will be outraged regardless of what President Trump does regardless. We have been playing by rules democrats have no compunction breaking at every opportunity. So make hay while we can.

There is no good argument against: Dems will turn out in greater numbers either way, independents don't care.

Hey! I’m an independent and what makes you think we”don’t care” about Trump doing his job and immediately nominating Ginsberg replacement?
