Should there be a height to weight ratio for flying coach?

I think weight < height / .3 should be the limit.

Hard for me to come up with a limit for the women... maybe Hannie or GamerGirl or GKL?

These days anyone larger than an 8 year old child who is malnourished is pretty much too big for coach seating....

Charge people by the lb. It's so simple and fair, that it's unfair.

6'4" 235 here....I abhor coach and always pay extra for more leg room when offered.

Be careful what you wish for though....as there is a trend there recently of all the big guys- and gals- paying for that and then they have a guy like me along with 2- 300 pounders in the same row.

More leg room....but the seats aren't any wider!

I quit flying when they started using shoehorns to get you into your seat.

They pretty much treat people like luggage so they might as well have you sit in a box to see if you fit.

Still give you pretzels and a soda (if the flight is longer than an hour) so there’s that.

Blame the airlines, jamming far more seats in an aircraft than is workable. There have always been fat folks. The new element here is the jammed up seats.

Man is life good or what? We can be transported anywhere in the world inside of a few hours while enjoying climate controlled conditions, cocktail in hand, playing on the internet and watching a movie and we still ***** endlessly about every component of it.

I’m sensitive to the plight of the fat person, but when you sit next to a biggun and the spill over the armrest into your area, its unpleasant

Just don’t ever attend a NASCAR race. I think the weight *minimum* is 300lbs.
Not sure what is for men.

I don't know how they did it, really. I have a lot of backpacking experience and it has further reinforced my perception of how tough people had it back in tha day.
