Hey all- I was just looking at the GSSF website. I found no matches near me whatsoever, which surprised me. Are there any other advantages to GSSF membership, outside of matches? Does GSSF put out a magazine? The pistol at LE price isn't worth anything to me, because I'm an Armorer and military, so I am already eligible for the LE pricing.

Any benefit to membership that I haven't thought of? I would have figured I'd find some kind of "benefits of membership" info on the GSSF site, but I didn't see any info in that regard.

    Thanks!

If your already an armorer, already get the LE discount, and no matches close? What about indoor matches?

There must be a match somewhere within a few hours of you. I hope you join. The matches are fun and the people are great.

The Greeley, CO match may be closest to you, but it was held earlier this year. Next year there will be at least 40 outdoor matches. Members may also compete in the GSSF Indoor Series of matches. I travel as far as 450 miles one way to shoot one of the outdoor matches. Closest is 125 miles one way. GSSF publishes "The Glock Report" twice a year. Members also get a free copy of "The Glock Annual" magazine every April or May.

Yeah, kind of a bummer. I would have liked to shoot some GSSF matches, but I think the closest I saw when I looked on the site was in western Oregon, which would still be 6-7 hrs from here. I'm in SW Idaho, by the way.

The Vegas match would also be a possibility for you.

If your a member of a shooting range or know of a range or club that would be interested in having a match. Bring the idea up with the board members and see if you can make that happened. That would cut down your travel time and distance.

No real benefits unless you wish to travel.

Don't know if I will renew my membership as I don't care to travel (no match at Anniston, AL this year - the reason that I joined to begin with).

Also, I have no plans to buy another Glock in the near future.

That's cool, but I'm already eligible for CMP purchaces (active duty military). Oh well, I guess I'll wait until the GSSF starts some matches in my area...

I live in Boise, Idaho and drove to the Missoula and Bremerton matches this year, I may go to the Reno match next year. Pretty much all the matches are over 7 hour drives from here but they are worth the trip. Maybe there will be a chance that one of the local shooting ranges in southern Idaho will host a match sometime in the near future to get one closer to us.
