    Hello,
State of Ca resident here (limited to 10 round mags) wondering about if adding a Gen 3 Glock 26 to my CCW permit? I am allowed 5 and already have J Frame, G43, G19, G21sf, and a 1911. Undecided as with a G43 and G19 already if G26 even made any sense? Thoughts and ideas appreciated. Thanks.

If you do then it will most likely become your EDC. That little gun does everything very well. It conceals better than most due to the short grip. It is lightweight and can be carried all day with no problem. It shoots very accurately and with little felt recoil, like a bigger gun. If you leave CA then it can accept the larger 12, 15, and 17 round mags (and 33), so you can carry one of those as a spare and have a lot of rounds at your disposal if needed. Great concealed carry gun.

Deleted, in light of Rock_Castle's remarks which are spot on.

Thanks for responses. Main justification be that it does something the 43 and 19 cant as it seems to be right inbetween the two. I have Taran Tactical 8 round mags for the 43 that helps a little. 26 I have shot in past was very accurate with follow up shots being easy to place as well.

Well, FWIW, I gave the 43 a good try, thinking I'd really find it advantageous, but honestly...it was a little brick just like the Glock 26, but with less capacity.

I should probably note as well that with my frame and build I can conceal the G19 easily at 4'oclock in my Vedder holster, even in shorts and a T-shirt. Winter I can pull off the G21sf in Veddder at 4 o'clock as well.

Thanks for feedback. Lots of people here are very fond of their 26's as in California its really difficult to get a 43 so for some this isn't even an option.

Thanks. Your main complaint then about the 43 was capacity? Or was there another reason you preferred the 26 and didn't like the 43?

I thought the Glock 43 would be *significantly* lighter, more compact, and so forth, but when I had it in my hand I thought, "Geesh, never mind."

The only way id do it is if you plan to not ever add a magazine grip extension to the 26. If you add the extension, then you are concealing basically a 19. I haven't ran into a situation where i can conceal my 27 and not my 23.

I'm amazed how well the G26 handles and shoots. I thought being able to wrap only two fingers around the grip would hinder those things, but it doesn't.

If you're limited to a 10 rd mag, one of the big advantages of the G19 (15 Rd mag) over the G26 is eliminated, making the latter even more appealing as a CCW.

It was definitely a case of needing to hold it before I could make an informed decision about it.

Thanks, great point and I have read other posts and seen pics and understand. I wouldn't say for sure that a pinky extension wouldn't be wanted as the lack of a pinky on gun is awkward to me. The 43 is or seems about 1/8" taller and I can get a good 1/3 of pinky on it. Might just be the 6 plus 1 of the 43 that's biggest drawback and has me interested in 26.

And another thing about the Glock 26 Gen 4 ... backstrap options.

Thanks, I agree how well the 26 shoots as I have shot one a few times. The 19 in all other states with the 15 round mag makes it so appealing and it just doesn't sit well to be 2/3 capacity here in my state.

Thanks but Gen 4 in my state would be difficult to get. California doesn't allow but if its any consolation the 26 Gen 3 I seen is OD green.

If that's the case for you, the G26 might be a great option. I love mine and it carries a touch better than my G30S; however, for me, with a string-bean build, I do notice a difference between the 26 and the 43. I can carry the 43 under a t-shirt, but not the 26 without giving the appearance of a tumor on my hip. They are so close in size, I wouldn't have thought there would be a difference, but on me there is. For you, if the G19 works, the G26 should carry great.
