Should Hollywood train cops in how to treat people?

I don't see why cops have to treat people bad. In the movies and TV shows I see, cops do act reasonably as decribed in your scenario and the BGs always (or almost always) end up brought to justice. And Hollywood should know, because they are experienced. All told, there must be millions of hours of police shows made, so they must be right, right? I thought so. Perhaps cops from your "real world" should and could learn a thing or two from Hollywood.

I am going to have to get Eric to put a :sarcasm: smiley in the inventory. I am certain you meant that as sarcasm.

What is this "sarcasm" you're referring to? In what movie or TV show can I learn more about it? PBS channel or perhaps a foreign film?

But really, educators teach by using videos and movies, so why can't cops learn police work from the vast library of Hollywood instructions?

I hope that at some point soon you'll post something like either "Yes, I'm serious" or "j/k" so I know how much of my non-refundable time to put into this.

Thought I'd move this to the appropriate venue. It wasn't really a Carry Issues topic.

That explains why after I woke up I found I wasn't in Kansas anymore.

And I was going to post something about how so many gun owners learned CQB from those Hollywood instructional videos. Can't beat training by Hollywood.

Personally, after a shoot-em-up, I've always enjoyed spinning my G19 around my index finger and then blowing the smoke away from the barrel.

Die Hard 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. There was also the instructional series with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover (can't remember title right now... Lethal Weapon, series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7). LA Confidential and The Usual Suspects for investigations.

I did the home study video course for my POST by watching POLICE ACADEMY 1 through 20. I also did my continuing education by watching all the episodes of Reno 911.

I completed detective school by watching COBRA and Naked Gun. Then advanced gang officer school by watching Deep Cover. Community relations with Car 54 where are you? Proactive community policing with Lethal Weapon. SWAT training with... SWAT. Narcotics with any movie starring Robert Downey Jr.

Let's not forget the essential undercover/narcotics officer training films "Tango & Cash" and "Cobra".

I mentioned Cobra, but that reminds me that Bad Boys 1 and 2 taught me everything I need to know about detectives, narcotics, SWAT, homicide, witness protection, federal task forces, and how to invade foreign countries and blow up drug dealer's homes.

I hear NBC is looking for a late night comedian... you might want to apply, you're good at it.
