Maybe the poster wanted an unbiased opinion from someone other than the media, I am at ShotShow, I am taking pictures, I still have my camera. Of all people, gun owners should be wary of media opinions.........

As far as the Glock goes it is shipping in the 17 and 22 flavors.....I like the larger mag release, and I am happy that the crescent slide cuts are gone.

As a glock armorer, I am not happy about more parts to stock but that's evolution. I feel that Glock did well with the Gen4.

I would be interested to handle one myself.

One of my local gun stores has two Gen4 G22s, they're supposed to get two Gen4 G17s soon. I held one of their Gen4 G22s. It feels nice. It fits perfect in my hand, but I haven't had a chance to shoot one so I don't know how effective the texturing is. I have a feeling the texture would wear down enough eventually to the point where I'd end up using a Hogue grip or Talon grips anyway.

What grip config did you hold? Skinny, fat or middle?

Skinny. I don't know if they'll put the additional backstraps on for your to feel, I imagine they would. All I know is it felt perfect. I have marginally smaller hands than most, which is partly why I got the G23. The G23 fits my hand very well.

I can't really speak to the texture without firing one though. It felt like a more secure grip just holding it.

Edit: Because the "hump" on the backstrap of the Gen4 G22 is farther down, it actually fit my hand better than my G23 does.
